Olympic Day, 5km Race, Paphos
Pauline, Di and Neil took part in this event on 15th June, from Kennedy Square. The race was well organised, but the runners had to endure very hot and humid conditions. Well done! The event was well supported along the route and thank you to members of West Coast Runners friends and families who turned up to support the runners.
Monthly Handicap
There was another good turnout for the June Handicap, the aim was to guess the distance, without the aid of watches or phones. Quite a challenge, but still enjoyable. There was the added bonus of delicious cakes afterwards provided by Jo as it was her birthday.
Social
A Club Relay and family BBQ was held on Sunday 19th June, at Gerry and Petes, who had kindly offered to host the event. While our volunteer cooks got on with the cooking, working tirelessly to provide an excellent BBQ, the 4 relay teams ran a 3K leg and all did extremely well despite the conditions, are we crazy or not! We were ably supported by our 2 Marshals along the route, although 1 runner still took a wrong turning, not mentioning any name! Also thanks to Alan and Margaret for the timekeeping, Karen, our photographer and finally congratulations to Louise and Neil for taking 1st place. Well done all!

10-week, New Runner’s Programme – Couch to 5K
The programme will commence on Monday 5th September at 6pm from the Kiosk on Paphos Harbour (close to the Harbour car park). The course is free to all participants. For further information please contact:- Diana, Course Leader 97761015.
