The organisers for the World Nations Cup continue to be busy here in Cyprus and in Spain. Flights to Torrevieja and accommodation are booked, the squad are focused on training, and have a few friendly matches planned, including one with the current world champions, England men over 50’s team. An amazing 90% of the GoFundme target of 15,000 GBP has been raised and a HUGE thank you goes to ALL those who donated. An official launch of the new kit is planned for 7th September 2025.
Last month we gave the first shout-out to a new venture; the WFiC Kicking Cancer Team. This is now in the planning stage and hopefully will see a start once the cooler weather comes in September. So far there has been a positive response from people, including qualified Paramedic and WFA Referees. This initiative is open to both men and women over the age of 40 who are recovering and would like to get mobile or socially connected. Contact Wayne Dore at Wayne@boe.uk.com
BREAKING NEWS!
We are absolutely delighted to announce that Pafos United’s very own Paul Nichols, has been appointed by the UK Walking Football Association as the new Manager of England Parkinson’s Walking Football Team. This is well deserved recognition for Paul. Not only is he one of the best goalkeepers in the business, but he was the main instigator of the walking football for Parkinson’s initiative. Well done Paul. We look forward to seeing back in Cyprus soon.
