After the sometimes unbearable heat of the last couple of months, the NEW WALKING FOOTBALL SEASON IS BACK with lots of things to look forward to!!
The men’s, ladies and mixed league days will shortly kick off, and we are welcoming 3 new men’s teams. Akamas, Pyla Predators and Wembley Xylafagou, which means a 7 team men’s league this season.
Aphrodite Wanderers Over 60’s men recently visited the newly formed team at Xylafagou for a friendly match. After a keenly fought 2-1 win to the Wanderers, the home club hosted superbly with some post-match beers and a meze.
A friendly meeting between Akamas and Polis Lions and Lionesses also took place at AM FairGame during July. A full 2 hours of shorter games, with plenty of water breaks and the overall result was a win for walking football.
The CWFF Representative squads are also in preparation for the forthcoming visit of EWFF (England) Ladies and Mens teams in November. More information about this visit and other events happening in the next few months, will be available in the next edition of the magazine
