We are of course at the start of a hot summer and we are taking care in ensuring players do not wilt in the morning heat. The evening session in the slightly cooler weather has become so popular that we are now arranging for extra evening sessions.
Our recent open day arranged by the three clubs on the island proved very popular and we are delighted that a number of new players have signed up. Our thanks to our sponsor Buchanan Chase and to the local media and businesses who widely advertised the event.
We received a boost this month when the England Walking Football Association contacted our chairman, Tony Watson. They had read our leaflet on our 2022 Code of Conduct and asked if they could use it as a benchmark for adoption by British clubs.
We were honoured to have the presence of two England Walking Football International players taking part in our morning sessions. We were encouraged with their comments on the standard of our players and how much they have improved over time.

Our six newly qualified referees are now proudly wearing shirts with the Cyprus Walking Football Federation badge on it. It is a ca credit to our players that there are very few disputed decisions. Maybe the threat of the sinbin is a deterrent!!
