Announcement of the Ministry of Health regarding new cases of COVID-19 disease
The Ministry of Health informs that, according to information received today by the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit from contracting laboratories, out of a total of 3,679 laboratory diagnoses, 107 new cases of COVID-19 were identified.
In detail, the current cases emerged as follows:
- Out of 369 samples taken through the process of tracking the contacts of already confirmed cases, 73 cases were identified.
- Out of 159 samples taken through private initiative, 6 cases were identified.
- Out of 155 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals, 9 cases were identified.
- Out of 252 samples taken under the program of referrals by Personal Physicians and control of special groups through the Public Health Clinics, 2 cases were identified.
- Out of 776 samples taken during the passenger and repatriated control, 8 cases were identified.
- Out of 107 received as part of the laboratory test program carried out in nursing homes and other structures, 3 cases were identified.
- Out of 719 samples taken in the District of Limassol in the context of control of employees who fall under the exemptions for movement to and from the Districts of Limassol and Paphos, 1 case was identified.
- Out of 435 samples taken in the District of Paphos as part of the control of employees who fall under the exemptions for movement to and from the Districts of Limassol and Paphos, 1 case was identified.
- From 646 samples taken in the District of Nicosia in the context of control of employees who fall under the exemptions for movement to and from the Provinces of Limassol and Paphos, 2 cases were identified.
- From 61 samples taken in the village of Arsos, 2 cases were identified.
Therefore, based on the data so far, the total number of cases is 7,285.
In addition, the Famagusta General Hospital treats 55 people positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, six of whom are in the Intensive Care Unit. In addition, the Intensive Care Unit of the Nicosia General Hospital treats a total of nine patients, three of whom are out of ventilator. Another 11 people are being treated in a COVID-19 ward at the Nicosia General Hospital.
