Charity Status Confirmed

It’s been a long journey, but our efforts have now borne fruit.

Jeff Greenwood, President and Patron of the EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONDERS PAPHOS DISTRICT along with co-founder Justen Karlsson are very happy to announce that we have now been given Charity Status – Registered Charity No. ΠΑΦ/Ι/0171, registered September 29, 2023.

From our initial discussions on how to help people in the remote areas and villages of Paphos with emergency medical issues, we now have a network of fully trained Emergency First Responders that are on duty day and night to help those in need.

In fact, the services of the volunteers have been needed many times so far!

The EFR service provides first aid treatment while you are waiting for the ambulance to arrive. It started because of the long waits people in outlying villages experienced when calling an ambulance.

If you have a medical emergency, call the ambulance service first, then the EFR number. If someone is available near you, they will be sent to give first aid and can speak to the ambulance driver for you, helping them find you more quickly. The first few minutes of an emergency are the most important, and this is where EFR can really help.

EFR Paphos is a registered charity, and all First Responders are volunteers who give their time and services for free. We are building a team of volunteer responders to cover the entire Paphos district, but as you can imagine this does take time.

We have a committee consisting of Chairperson Jeff Greenwood, Treasurer Martin Parker, Secretary Achilleas Georgiou and other committee members such as Maureen Watt, Sean Stevens and John Ward that are working to finalise the working of the Charity and First Responders.

A very BIG thank you has to go out to all the Qualified First Responders in all areas of Paphos and the surrounding areas that are on duty helping others.

We would also like to thank our sponsors:

  • Angel Guardians
  • Pals Magazine Cyprus (B. Pals Media Ltd)
  • Pick-A-Lock
  • Kendall Events
  • Parker Prough Property Management
  • Security Absolute Services (Se.A.S.) Ltd.

This is a FANTASTIC achievement and could not have been done without the hard work of everyone involved.

The Emergency First Responders are trained at Security Absolute Services Head Office in Tala that is a Fully Licensed EFR Training Center No. S28928.

There is no charge for the services of the volunteers, but if you would like, the Charity gladly accepts donations to help with the purchase of equipment.
