Akamas Blosson Trail Running Festival
After the return in March of the Logicom races, in appalling weather, there was a definite worry that this year’s Akamas Blossom Trail Running Festival would succumb to the Cyprus extended winter. However, 2nd April turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year so far. WCR had 4 fabulous ladies taking part and this is what they thought of the day:-
“The Akamas Blossom 38k, a lovely trail running experience with fantastic views! Well done to the blossom girls – Claire, Di, Ruth, and Viv, and all the participants in a well-organized event by Cyprus Trail Runners. A massive thank you to our West Coast volunteers Christine, Linda and Ron helping at the water station, your support, and the support of all volunteers on the day was greatly appreciated. Roll on next year’s challenge!”

Our monthly handicap challenge continues with the “Time Trail” postponed until end of March due to covid etc. We eagerly await our next monthly challenges which take place on the last Saturday of each month from the Lighthouse Beach café.
In addition to our scheduled club runs members are enjoying the speed training and hill reps which take place on alternative weeks on the regular Tuesday & Thursday sessions.
All our club sessions are open to runners of all abilities whether new to running, returning after injury or just want to run with like-minded people.
