March is here and its marathon month for Cyprus with the 26th Logicom Marathon taking place on 3rd March. Several members of West Coast Runners will be taking part in the marathon, half marathon and the 10km races and several more members together with family and friends will be volunteering during the week and on the day. It promises to be a great day for all, and we pray that the weather gods are kind this year. We will be celebrating our runners with a celebratory meal at Martikas Kitchen in Tala after the event. Good luck to everyone taking part. Race reports will be in next month’s edition.
Last month we held our club AGM, and a vote was held for the club Committee. We are pleased to announce the following was passed by members present;

- Membership Secretary – Gerry Rock
There were lots of discussions for future events and we are looking forward to another club relay in the Spring, a new C25k course and we will be introducing a 5-10km course. More details will be available soon. All this will take place alongside our normal scheduled training sessions and the monthly handicap.

2024 Charity – Learning Refuge
This year we have chosen The Learning Refuge as our chosen charity. This is a volunteer group that provides support and collections for families and children in need in the Paphos & surrounding area.
We hope to support this cause with monthly collections of clothing, household items, craft materials and food parcels. During the year we will be working with the charity and holding events which we will share in future posts.
WCR On Tour
Holiday time has started and to kick off our year of West Coast Runners on tour we have Neil Bithell who completed an 8km run in Georgetown, Cayman Islands, well done Neil. Where will we end up next – watch this space!!
West Coast Walkers
Don’t forget we also have our walking group that meets every Monday morning. The walking group is increasingly popular and is open to anyone who enjoys walking, meeting like-minded individuals, experiencing walking along the coast and exploring in and around the Paphos area.
