2022 has certainly started with a bang, rain, hailstones, earthquakes!! – so, after all that terrible weather we can now look forward to getting back out there and enjoy some running with like-minded friends and hopefully making new friends.
February’s running schedule took a bit of a hit but many club members have enjoyed the reintroduced hill rep sessions & speed training. The first speed training of the year comprised of the caterpillar format, running in a line with the back runner running to the front etc etc. It was good fun and will be repeated at various times during the year.
Our Sunday social runs have mainly been on road during February, but March’s schedule will see the re-introduction of the lovely scenic off-road routes that so many enjoy. These are run as a group of all abilities and quite often end with coffee/breakfast at a local taverna or at a fellow members house.
If you would like to join us at any of our runs please check out the schedule which you can find on our Facebook page or website www.westcoastrunnerscyprus.org for all the up-to-date information.
Handicap Challenge
Our monthly handicap challenge stated at the end of February with the first week being the “Time Trial”. Its going to be an interesting 10 months to see who carries home the trophies.

There will be a new course starting on Saturday 12th March at 7.30am starting from the Lighthouse Beach Café. Its not too late to sign up to join so if you would like to find out more information please call Di on 97761015 or Ruth on 99172447.
LOGICOM Cyprus Marathon, Half, 10k, 5k
Several members will be taking part this year with some first timers entering for various distances. They have all been training, even during the adverse weather and all hoping that the weather Gods are kinder than the belated 2021 event which took place in December.
GOOD LUCK to all runners
