Coral Bay Bowling Club’s Swallows Team bowled the others over and are delighted that they came out on top of this year’s Tens League, six points ahead of Aliathon Kingfishers, with third place being taken by the Kestrels, another Coral Bay team, only six points behind the Kingfishers.
This bowling competition, organized by Bowls Cyprus, is run from February to June each year and this year nine teams from four clubs in the area took part.
Each team is made up of ten people (hence Tens League) and they play singles, pairs, triples and fours, every team playing all of the other teams in the league at home and away.
Coral Bay Bowls Club is open throughout the summer. If you fancy a game of bowls get on down to Neo’s in Peyia. (Free transport from The Neptune Apartment hotel). The green will be open from 10am to 5.30pm for visitors. There will be a member of the bowls club there every morning throughout July and August from 10am to 12pm and after that the bar staff will give you a warm welcome. During the rest of the year there is a member of the club there to steward the green from 10am to 5.30pm every day except Christmas day!
