The Water Development Department today announced that the “water supply in the municipalities and communities of the Paphos region of Paphos has been fully restored and water supply to all local authorities is uninterrupted from 4.30 am of 20 January 2019.”
The announcement noted that “the heavy rainfall of 14 to 16 January caused serious problems in the water sources resulting in the refinery being offline.”
The refinery being the and water treatment plant at Asprokremmos Dam which Paphos relies upon for it’s water.
The announcement explained that “the major flows in the rivers still continuing have made it extremely difficult to repair the main pipelines that feed the refinery which was completed at noon on 19 January 2019.“
