By David and Robert Goodale. Based on the works of P.G. Wodehouse, Directed by Penny Cook, 13th, 14th 15th 16th May 2026, Tickets: Adults €15 Children €8
Prepare yourselves for an evening of pure comedic brilliance as the unflappable valet Jeeves and the delightfully hapless Bertie Wooster take the stage in Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense. Adapted by brothers David and Robert Goodale from P.G. Wodehouse’s beloved stories, and directed by Penny Cook, this riotous play delivers the charm, wit, and eccentricity that have made Wodehouse’s world timeless.
When Bertie Wooster decides to stage a theatrical retelling of his own adventures, things quickly spiral out of control. Quickly realising he can’t possibly portray all the characters himself, the ever-resourceful Jeeves steps in, providing ever more ingenious props and scenery as the story grows more elaborate. As more characters are introduced, Aunt Dahlia’s butler, Seppings, is brought into help. While Bertie Wooster can only manage to play himself, the other two juggle multiple personas. The result is a whirlwind of quick changes, physical comedy, and sparkling dialogue including, at one point, a lively exchange between Sir Watkyn Bassett and his daughter, Madeline, both played by Jeeves.
With gloriously eccentric names such as Gussie Fink-Nottle and Stiffy Byng, you will be thrown into the delightful world of P.G Wodehouse. You might even recall the popular TV series with Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry. If you remember the book or the TV series you will love this show. If you have never heard of Jeeves and Wooster, you will love this show. With treachery, blackmail, stolen antique cow creamers and the odd police helmet, don’t worry if you momentarily lose the plot – as the title suggests, it is perfectly, ridiculously brilliant.
Winner of the 2014 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy, Jeeves and Wooster in Perfect Nonsense is a glorious evening of high farce and theatrical invention, — a joyful treat for audiences of all ages.
