This has been a challenging year for everyone but I am happy to say that here at St Barnabas Church in Limassol we are coping well and so excited that our new chaplain is here and will be licensed on Saturday 14th November at 3.00pm. Rev Ian Nicholson and his wife Carol have spent the last six years in Qatar, Ian was associate priest at the Church of the Epiphany in Doha.
We have regular services on Sunday at 10.00am and prayer meetings on Tuesday at 9.30am. Unfortunately, because of the Covid restrictions, our study groups and other events can not take place at the moment but we look forward and plan ahead for the future. Our Church Council work hard to keep everything running smoothly and our pastoral team keep in touch with members of the congregation who, for various reasons, are unable to join us at the moment.
We have several students who join us regularly and occasionally we have holiday makers come along to join in our worship.
We do have to wear masks during the service and we observe social distancing but we are so blessed that we can meet together on a Sunday and unite in prayer, worship and singing of hymns.
Although we haven’t had a resident chaplain since May we have been truly blessed with other ministers on the island coming to Limassol to lead us in our services.
Our daughter church, St Lazarus in Pissouri is also open and services are held 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at 6.00pm in the room below the amphitheatre.
If you would like to come along and join us or would like to learn more about our church, you can get more details on our website or Facebook page.
