Pafos United Walking Football Club

What a month of walking football we have had through April. The highlight was the inaugural Jeavons Eurotir Trophy held on April 5th and 6th at the AM Fair Game Sports Center in Tremithousa. Five local teams competed against Pimlico from London, as well as two teams from FC Emmen from the Netherlands in a two league – four team format. The trophy winner was Pafos United’s own Tigers team beating Pimlico 2-1. The teams finishing third and fourth in each group, played each other for a Plate. In this case another Pafos Unted team, the Pumas, ran out winners, with FC Emmen (1) being runners-up.

Towards the end of the month, it was good to see four local teams compete with UK visitors, Thames Mariners, in a five-team Round Robin format including Pafos United, Polis & Latchi Lions, Tremithousa Tigers and winners Aphrodite Wanderers.

Don’t miss the latest on-line, exciting, totally football related radio programme – SOCCA-FIX, presented by our own Charlie on Sapphireradio.com every Wednesday 12 – 2.

Finally, as is a long standing custom in Pafos United, we have selected our Player of the Month. The winner for April is Goalkeeper, Matt Holbrook (see photo of Matt receiving the award from Over 70’s Manager, Billy Smith.
