Pafos United Walking Football Club

In October it was a great pleasure to welcome back to Paphos, our old friends Arun Allstars all the way from the south coast of England. Friendly games were played on October 17th and 21st. The results being…..

At last it is noticeably cooler and easier to play this wonderful game of walking football. However, it also highlights the importance of warming and stretching those muscle groups we need for this game. From the neck down to the toes, bend and gently stretch. Without giving ages away, let’s not forget the seniority of our playing members, and especially newly joined members. It is all too common to see people with thigh, hamstring, or calf muscle problems in their early days of joining. We do a warm up routine before every session, but extra work in the privacy of your own helps a huge amount. While you’re waiting for the kettle to boil, use the kitchen bench to stretch your hamstrings and calves. You will benefit from a longer time on the pitch, injury free.

This month we congratulate Nik Peltekakis for being awarded October Player of the Month. Nik is one of our newer, and younger, members.

As always, come and see us on Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m. or Friday mornings at 8.30 a.m. at the Fair Game Sports Centre, Tremithousa.

Don’t forget to look us up on Facebook or find our website puwfc.com. You can email us at info@puwfc.com or even call us on 96742836. New players, goalkeepers, and potential referees, ladies and gents, are always welcome. See you next month.
