The Cyprus Meteorological Service has issued a Yellow Weather Warning for Rain and Thunderstorms which is in place until 10pm today.
A combination of rain, isolated thunderstorms and strong to near gale winds at force 6 to 7 on the beaufort scale are expected to affect the island and mainly the coastal areas and the mountainous areas. In thunderstorm hail is likely. Total precipitation is expected to locally exceed 55 millimeters per 24 hours.
