Oo-er Missus! Get ready for a night of good old-fashioned comedy with Stage One Theatre’s production of Dirty Dusting. Written by Ed Waugh and Trevor Wood, this hit show has enjoyed widespread success across the UK since its premiere in 2003.

Don’t miss this hilarious play, directed by Doug Craig and featuring a phenomenal cast from Stage One Theatre. The language isn’t offensive, but it’s packed with joke after joke and abounds with saucy one-liners, sexual innuendo and double entendres – made all the funnier by the characters delivering them. Think seaside postcards and Carry On films.

Three elderly cleaning ladies – Gladys, Olive and Elsie – are devastated when they are told that they are going to be made redundant due to their age and replaced by younger workers after the weekend. In desperation, they come up with a daring plan to make some money. When a wrong number calls the office they clean looking for a sex chat line, they decide to set up their very own phone sex chat service. Calling themselves The Telephone Belles, they’ve got the incentive, the opportunity and a lifetime of experience. Well, maybe not all of them.

The play follows their journey as they step into this new line of business and endeavour to get rich quick. It should be easy – as long as they can keep it a secret from their vindictive manager, Dave, their husbands, their children and their grand-children.

Join them for this fast-moving, hysterical and heart-warming show that reveals the different lives of these women and touches on themes of ageism, workplace bullying, and the bonds of friendship. It may be light on subtlety, but it is rich in laughs.

Cheeky and side-splittingly funny, Dirty Dusting will have you smiling every time you answer the phone.
