Three major sailing competitions concluded at the beginning of the month.
In the ‘Sail Ionian Yacht Charters’ Summer Series Tony Edwards took the honours winning in ‘Bomba’, Graham Flint took second place & Peter Wade third. Tony will be presented with his award at the ‘Laying Up Supper Annual Awards Ceremony’ in November.
The ‘Letymbou Taverna Monthly Series’ was won by Richard Wheeler in ‘Hartley’ with Graham Flint in second place and Zbig Wender in third.
The PISC Autumn Regatta took place on the weekend of the 5th & 6th October. The weather was kind to us, three races were staged on the Saturday & two on the Sunday. We also managed to squeeze in a beach BBQ on the Saturday evening!!!
Four different boat classes were contested but the overall winners of the competition were Robin Marsh & Barbara Jones in ‘Nimrod’, visiting sailor Mike Vassilou took second place in his Laser with Dave Brown & Nadia Chulok taking the third spot.
Congratulations to them all.
The ‘Angel Guardians October Monthly Series’ is now underway with Dave Brown & Tonia Van Elkan in the lead, closely followed by Robin Marsh & Barbara Jones with Graham Flint & Patrik Olsen in third position.
On the social scene we have a packed line up at our clubhouse at Peyeia. As well as our normal Friday lunch with a round of ‘Play Your Cards Right’ we also have some great events scheduled for Tuesday evenings. Coming up in November we have a Bonfire Night Party, a Tapas Evening, Pudding Club, Laying Up Supper & Annual Award presentation and then rounding off the month with a quiz. What’s not to like!!!
