CHARITY EVENING FOR THEOSKEPATSI SPECIAL NEEDS SCHOOL

Theoskepasti Special School,  built 7years ago, is one of the best facilities in Cyprus the school provides a nurturing and safe environment and offers comprehensive programs and for children with a variety of disabilities Theoskepasti School takes children with particular types of disability or learning and behavioural difficulties.  They admit children and young adults who require extra attention and facilities and cannot be integrated into mainstream schools. Therefore, the expense per student in Schools for Special Needs Education is about 10 times as that in regular schools. The children learn by special curriculum, being surrounded by rich number of teachers and various facilities and equipment which meet the needs of those children. Children with disabilities have fewer opportunities We hope our concert will help get them extra equipment they really need.

Music by Gore Melian and Christina Simone (R&B, Soul, Pop and Classics)

Christina Simone is an award-winning vocalist and entertainer, from the North East of England. During a 24-year career, Christina has performed in some of the country’s top theatres as part of the productions‘A Night with Streisand and Diamond’ and also shared the stage with top tribute acts in ‘Magic of the Bee gees and friends’. Christina is an incredibly versatile performer and has a show for any occasion. Christina is certainly no stranger when it comes to theatre, having played principal roles in stage musicals including Killer Queen in We Will Rock You and Nancy in Oliver and Fantine in Les Misérables as well as being a recording artiste and having her songs played on the BBC radio! Christina has won several awards, including being voted North East Female Vocalist of the Year. “I love performing in Cyprus and I have made some lovely friends , I can’t wait to return and I am looking forward to performing with Gore”. Dedicated to her craft and the quality of performances, one of the most well-respected and popular entertainer will be performing her cabaret set in this concert. Christina’s career has not only been In entertainment but also teaching having completed three universities degrees Christina is an academic that has been a University lecturer herself for Teesside University and Newcastle College teaching BA(Hons) Musical theatre,Events and production Management and Music for over 10 years! A singer with passion and an act not to be missed.

Gore Melian, was born in Yerevan, Armenia, He grew up in a musical family and greatly inspired by his mother Zara Barkhoudarian and accomplished pianist, opera singer and vocal coach. Since the age of three he has been singing and performing on local and international stages. He sings in English, Greek and Armenian. his music covers a broad spectrum from R&B,Soul Pop and Classics. Gore studied Rock and Pop Grade 8 at the Trinity College London, he passed with Distinction, He started composing music and lyrics from the age of fifteen after which he also got involved with music production. Among Gore’s many achievements his digital single ‘Suddenly’ which he wrote, produced and performed, made it through the semi finals in the Love Songs category of UK song writing contest 2011. It has been played consistently on Cypriot radio stations such as KissFM Deejay radio and Ant1 etc.In 2016 he wrote, produced and performed his digital single ‘Fear vs Love’ which has received lots of media attention and also broadcast on Cypriot radio. As One of the National Finalists to represent Cyprus in Eurovision where he was nominated 3rd with his song ‘I Wanna Thank You’. Following the Eurovision, Gore was invited to represent Cyprus in Malta International Hit Song Festival with this song. His first album ‘I Wanna Thank You’ was released in 2009 to great acclaim. He has recently had the honour of being successfully involved in the Berlin Eurovision Song Contest in Berlin.
