Since 2004, the Polis Charitable Foundation, founded by Sandra Westwood, has been operating to raise funds for local humanitarian projects and good causes. During this time, the Charity has managed to raise over €250,000, which has benefited many good causes from both Hospices, Cancer Patients, Kidney Patients etc to individual needs and requests.
It is with great sadness that Jacqui and I have to report that, due to Cyprus bureaucracy, we now have to cease trading as a Charity.
The Polis Charity Bookshop, which I know many of you both in the area and beyond, support will continue trading but under the umbrella of the Friend’s Hospice and the volunteers currently serving in the bookshop have agreed to remain.
Jacqui and I extend our best wishes to them and am sure they will continue in the good work that Sandra started.
