Well, exciting times for the ladies formerly known as the Aphrodite Bra Ladies. We have decided to have a re-brand and are now going to be known as the Archangel Fundraising Ladies. We will of course still be continuing with our Bra Chain challenge, (So ladies WE STILL NEED YOUR BRAS!!! ) but we have evolved and how find we are raising so much money with other initiatives and events, (Over €20,000 since 1/9/17), that we felt a change was required.
We have lots of things to be thankful for, especially to everyone out there who had helped us over the past (nearly) 2 years.
Whilst our major event, the Hasapiko Dance World record was not successful as a record breaker, it did far more than we could have dreamed of to raise the profile of the Archangel Michael Hospice, and raised a tidy some along the way. (To think it all started with a 4am chat one morning between two of the ladies, however the idea was solely from the lovely Kaela Charalampous. We must also thank Andreas Demetriades Law Firm and Fitzgerald’s Marketing for their fabulous donation of money that bought the scarves for the dancers and the T shirts for the stewards.
The good news is Paphos Municipality have now decided to try and break the record later this year, again as a fundraiser for us, so we are quite proud of our achievement in promoting the Hospice to the extent that we were on the front page of all newspapers, major story on both national radio and TV and also made it to international press. All from insomnia!!!
We will be ‘ticking over’ throughout the summer but our next major event will be the annual Money Trail, which we are hoping will take place on the 23rd September along the harbour. This raises thousands of euros annually for the Hospice, so we hope to see you there. If anyone can help out on the day please contact 99389073. Remember to bring your €2, our ambition is to cover 100metres of red ribbon, and if we do that €8000 will be raised for the Hospice, so lets hopw we can do it.
We have also started a new Facebook page to sell or auction off prestige items we have been given, and the first item on the page is an Autobiography of Dave Hill, guitarist with the pop group Slade. He has kindly donated the book and written a personal message inside, so well worth looking at and putting in a bid. The page is entitled Fundraising for Archangel Michael Hospice for those who may want to have a look and possibly bid on the book.
