February At PISC

2024 ended in a flourish of activity. The Autumn quarterly series was finally won by Tony Edwards with Graham Flint in second place, Peter Wade third. The ‘Tea for Two Monthly Series’ was won by the Commodore, Mick Dent with Bill Crawford in second place & Peter Wade third.

For a lot of sailing clubs January is normally a quiet month in the sailing calendar due to weather poor conditions, but not so at PISC. In the Winter Quarterly Series, which is now underway, Paul & Penny Hutton -Ashkenny are in the lead with Peter Wade in second place, Roger Crackett & Lindy Andersen in the third spot but a long way to go before the winner is determined.

In the current Monthly Series, the placings are reversed with, Roger Crackett & Lindy Andersen in the lead with Peter Wade in second place & Paul & Penny Hutton-Ashkenny in third.

2025 will be a busy year for PISC. As well as having dinghy racing every Saturday two Regatta’s, one in the spring and in autumn, there will be an ‘Open Day’ in April where you can try sailing for the first time and an Offshore Rally planned for larger boats at the end of May 2025.

On the social front we will be hosting a number of varied events during February at our clubhouse in Peyeia. These include a darts competition, a pie night, Valentine’s night when the guys will be spoiling the ladies & also a sailing training talk. So, as you can see, we have a variety of activities for everyone and you don’t have to sail to be a member of PISC. Why not come and meet us, we are a friendly bunch, at either Agios Georgios or our clubhouse.
