Coronavirus: Announcement regarding passengers arriving in Cyprus from the UK

Self-restricted passengers from the United Kingdom

Following the discovery of a new strain of SARS-CoV-2 virus in the United Kingdom, for the sake of Public Health, until more information is available from the scientific community, passengers arriving at Larnaca and Paphos Airports from UK airports should stay in self-limitation for a period of 14 days or for a period of 10 days, provided that they undergo a molecular test with a negative result . It is understood that during the period of self-limitation, if symptoms occur, there should be contact with the Personal Physician for medical guidance.

The regulation will take effect from tomorrow, December 21, 2020, at 6 a.m. .

It is noted that this measure is complementary to the measure that is already in force for the presentation of a negative certificate of molecular test (PCR test) of 72 hours, while the sampling of passengers at airports continues.

The data are being evaluated by the Scientific Advisory Committee on Coronavirus, and any new suggestions that may arise will be announced.
