Coronavirus: 1 Death and 751 Cases Announced on Monday

Announcement of the Ministry of Health regarding new cases of COVID-19 disease

The Ministry of Health announces that today, December 28, 2020:

One person has died of COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths to 113.

– 153 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 51 are in serious condition.

– 13,482 disease detection tests have been performed with the molecular method (PCR) and the method of rapid antigen detection (antigen rapid test).

– 751 new cases of COVID-19 disease were detected by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test, bringing the total number of cases to 20,408 .

The current results are detailed.

A. Deaths from COVID-19 disease:

One person who died with the ultimate cause of death attributed to COVID-19 is:

– An 81-year-old man with underlying diseases, who was treated at the Limassol General Hospital.

Therefore, the total number of deaths with a final cause of COVID-19 is 113, of which:

74 men (65%), and

– 39 women (35%).

The average age of those who die from the disease is 80 years.



B. Patients:

In total, 153 patients with COVID-19 are being treated in OKYPY hospitals, of which 51 are in serious condition.

Of the 51 patients who are critical, 28 are intubated in the Intensive Care Unit and 23 in the Intensive Care Unit.

C. Positive COVID- 19 cases ( PCR  test and rapid  antigen test  ) : From the 13,482 laboratory diagnoses performed today by the molecular method (PCR), 751 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, which resulted as follows:
