Yellow Rainfall and Yellow Wind Warnings Issued by the Cyprus Met Office

Yellow Rainfall Warning

The Cyprus Met Office have issued a Yellow Alert Rainfall Warning valid from 9pm on 12^th March 2020 until 4pm on 13^th March 2020.

Rain,  at times, and isolated thunderstorms are expected to affect the area.

The total rain accumulation is locally likely to exceed 50 millimeters in a 6 hours period.

Yellow Wind Warning

This is on top of the Yellow Wind Warning issued for between 19:30pm on 12^th March 2020 and 8am on 13^th March 2020.

The wind warning is for “Near gale and temporarily up to gale northeasterly to easterly winds with mean speed 7 to 8 beaufort and gusts up to 9 beaufort are expected to affect mainly the mountains and locally the windward coastal areas”.
