Beginners Course
Our FREE course for beginners started at the beginning of October and we’re already getting good feedback from participants who prefer it to Couch-to-5k they had tried previously. We are using the 12-week ‘None To Run” course which aims to have you running for 25 minutes non-stop by the end of the course. Described as an easier alternative to Couch-to-5k, it is the ideal way for absolute beginners to take up running. Even if you missed the start of the current course, you are welcome to join us at any time and we’ll help you become a runner. Race news
With many of our regular runners away partying, ahem, I mean ‘marathon training’ (!) in Crete, it was left to a few of our senior members to represent the club at Kyriakideia 2021 in the lovely village of Statos-Agios Fotios on 17 October. This is the birthplace of the legendary marathon runner who won the Boston Marathon in 1946, Stelios Kyriakides, and the local running club of the same name put on this superbly organised event. It included a 15km cross country jaunt and a 5km speedier run around the village. Local wine and beautiful personalised wine cups were presented to finishers – one of our favourite races, funnily enough …
Of course you don’t have to take part in races to enjoy our runs – we do a variety of routes including beautiful trail runs around Paphos. We have a walking group on Monday mornings too. Now that the weather’s cooling down, it’s even more enjoyable to get out and about.
