Pafos United Walking Football June Update

In the last month we have enjoyed the company of visitors from Ladies football team from Midlothian Scotland who played two matches against our Ladies team. We won an entertaining first game but in the second we narrowly lost a highly skilled match 2-1.

Evie presenting Kate with Player of Month for April 22

The three teams in Cyprus from Polis, Athrodite and Pathos have joined forces to arrange a women’s open Day. This will take place at Fairgame Sports Centre in Tremathusia on Sunday 3rd July from 10 am to 1 pm. The day will encourage interested new players with or without experience to come along and learn about walking football, take part in skill sessions and watch or take part in kick abouts. More information from Evie on 99 758320 or Lynn on   99 277364.

This will be a fun filled morning with refreshments available and open to 30 up to 80-year-olds.  Just bring trainers and have a go. It’s fun and friendship.

Our Player of the month for April was appropriately awarded to one of our new women players Kate Jones. Kate has been an inspiration since she started with her enthusiasm and skill and richly deserved the award. Photo shows Kate receiving the award from Coach Evie Johnstone.

Both our men and women were due to play matches against UK team Thame wfc, the latest in a number of UK teams due to visit the island.

Off the pitch we are having a number of social events with regular monthly lunchtime get togethers and a trip on the Wavedancer enjoyed by over 30 members.
