The Minister of Labor, Welfare and Social Insurance, Zeta Aimilianidou and the Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy (EKP), Kyriakos Kokkino, presented the new Internet System for Payment of Social Insurance contributions. The system is at the service of citizens and businesses from tomorrow, January 15, 2021, while its use will become mandatory from January 25, 2021.

Through the new System, anyone interested can pay their Social Insurance contributions to the Social Security Services online, from home or office, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Fast, simple and safe. In addition, it is clarified that the payment of contributions can be done both using a debit or credit card, and with the method of Direct Debit (Direct Debit).

According to the Minister of Labor, Ms. Zeta Aimilianidou, “The goal of the Government and the Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Social Insurance is to use all modern technology tools for the best, most direct and complete service of every employee, every employer and of every citizen of this place. This goal today comes one step closer to the launch of the Internet System for Payment of Contributions to Social Security Services. The most important advantages of the application of the Internet Payment System for Social Security Services are, among other things, the immediate service of the public with 24-hour service, from anywhere, without travel and waiting, the security of transactions, the most complete information of employers, employees and self-employed persons for the history of their transactions and for their insurance account at any time and the possibility of the Social Security Services for direct export of statistics and other data “. 



The Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy Mr. Kyriakos Kokkinos stressed, in turn, that this initiative is part of a holistic approach followed by the State to implement the digital transformation, with multiple benefits for society as a whole. According to the Deputy Minister: “Digital solutions offer flexibility, convenience but also security to the citizen, reducing the need for a physical presence to process work and transactions, such as paying social security, while also contributing significantly to improving the quality of service and increasing public service efficiency. Our mission is the continuous upgrade of the quality of service that we provide as a state to citizens and businesses but also, through the utilization of technology,

Registration in “SISnet” will now be done only electronically.

In the second phase, scheduled for the end of February 2021, the possibility of paying overdue debts will be given, which will minimize if not eliminate the need to visit the Social Security funds. “According to the Minister of Labor, it was estimated that with the abolition of the funds there will be savings in expenses and time amounting to 2.6 million per year.”
